Located North of the 53rd Parallel, surrounded by the boreal forest and climate change exacerbating conditions, wildfire planning is increasing in importance.
We will coordinate a project that will assess the community's wildfire risk based on contributing factors from a landscape to a home perspective. We will be collecting data on risk factors, that include emergency response resources, surrounding forest fuel types, wildfire occurrence and cause history, available water resources and community access.
Utilizing available advanced data collection methods, including aerial imagery and developed online spatial data forms, the community will be provided with an up-to-date inventory of forest types and identified wildfire risks. The data collected throughout the process can be utilized to develop a Wildfire Preparedness Plan that will provide emergency response agencies with a unique guide to assist in response and decrease community recovery periods.
Equipped with an effective Geographic Information System (GIS) we can provide mapping services to display, analyze and collect required spatial data for your project. By connecting your data set to a map and integrating precise location data with descriptive information, your project will be provided with a valuable planning tool. With the developed data set we can provide quality information maps to display the data for required reports and presentation purposes.
The land use area of a community is very large and contains a wide variety of resources that Indigenous peoples have utilized for many generations. Resource planning and monitoring throughout the traditional land-use will strengthen the Nations resource management datasets and capabilities for future planning.
We will assist the nation to develop and implement a unique resource management plan that will reflect the cultural importance and identify their areas of interest. Utilizing our spatial analysis expertise, we could accurately map various resource use areas and identify ideal habitat for species of interest. The developed resource management plan will prioritize resource conservation and preservation for future generations to ensure the land-use area remains productive for years to come.
